You receive a plain-language report written with Meta's Muse Spark. A detected signal means further tests with a doctor, never a diagnosis on its own.
What methylation tells us
Every cell carries the same DNA, but each tissue switches genes on and off with small chemical tags called methyl groups. The pattern of tags is a signature of the tissue the DNA came from.
Cancer cells rewrite this pattern. When they die, fragments of their DNA enter the bloodstream. Burotu looks at sites that are almost never methylated in healthy blood, so a tumour's signature stands out against the background.

What Burotu does not do
- It does not replace recommended screening such as mammography, colonoscopy or cervical smears.
- A negative result does not rule out cancer. Early tumours can shed too little DNA to be detected.
- A detected signal needs confirmation by imaging or biopsy, prescribed by a doctor.
